Grant Park July Pre-Concert Talk

I’m only giving one pre-concert lecture at the Grant Park Music Festival this month but it’s a doozy.  They’re playing Shostakovich’s second piano concerto which is just an amazing piece.  They’re also doing Copland’s Suite from Rodeo which you know as the “beef, it’s what’s for dinner” theme song.

The lectures happen in the ginormous white tent just west of the main stage.  After the concert I’ll be at the Park Grill playing ping pong. Probably losing because literally everyone is better than me.
