1001 Afternoons in Chicago Performance

My radio play 1001 Afternoons in Chicago is the closer for this year’s Thirsty Ears Festival! Created with composer Amos Gillespie and director Anderson Lawfer, this piece was a big hit for ACM a few years back.

We made a CD of it, made a film version that aired on PBS and performed it live on the radio with none other than the great Rick Kogan as one of the voices.

The play is inspired by stories by Ben Hecht and features a half hour of music by myself and a half hour by Amos Gillespie. It’s definitely a thing to put it together with the voice actors so it doesn’t get performed a whole lot and I’m super excited!
