‘Vanishing City’ Videos Published

Last month I produced and hosted a live broadcast for Relevant Tones called Vanishing City, inspired by the book Vanishing New York by Jeremiah Moss.  In the book Moss argues that much of what made New York great is eroding, replaced by soulless chains and themed retail, bars and restaurants.

I invited Moss to be on a panel along with Vishan Chakrabarti, a top urban planner, Gregory Wessner of Open House New York and Frank J. Oteri of the NewMusicBox,  and  a lifelong New Yorker.  We had a sometimes heated but always interesting discussion and then heard stellar performances of music by “vanished” New York composers Julius Eastman, Arthur Russell, Tui St. George Tucker and Ben Weber.

Below are videos from the event!
